The Design contest is a competition following the KC/ACTF rules in which one is presenting work done as a student during the past years (see attached flyer). Because of the confusion, we will allow sign up at the Job Fair on January 16th. The portfolio review is a review providing feedback on your resume and portfolio
The Southern California Section of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology will be holding the Richard Thompson Student Design and Production Exhibit and Competition. This will be held at the Job Fair the Section is holding at California State University Fullerton on January 16, 2010.
This exhibit and competition is open to currently registered students at a College, University or High School in the Southern California Area. All areas of design and production and management are included. Productions that where mounted from Fall 2008- Fall 2009 at the students school are eligible.
This year there are three student registrations for the 2008 USITT Conference in Kansas City that will be awarded to the participants. The judging will be done at the Job Fair on January 16, 2010 at CSUF by a jury of section officers encompassing a range of functions.
The display and judging criteria will be the same as is used in the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (http://www.kennedy-center.org/education/actf/actfbarb.html). This will also provide the students the opportunity to do a test run if they are taking part in KCACTF or URTA this year or want to in the future. Those interested in competing should register and reserve space by January 1, 2008 by contacting Kimberly Mitchell at (scusittjobfair@gmail.com).
